ABOUT

Hi! I'm Bethany . . . wife, mom, friend, and constant failure. This is the place where I write, vent, share, complain about everyday life, looking for the extraordinary in it all. I've been one lucky wife to that stud pictured above since two thousand two. We opened a map early in two thousand three, randomly picked Wilmington, North Carolina on it, prayed and moved there five months after we were married. In a string of divine appointments and events, Brock ended up on the pastoral staff of a church there, where he served for eight years.
That officially makes me a pastor's wife, although I like to think I break that mold.
I tend to want to go against the grain instead of being a Kingdom monitor . . . I'm partial to embracing the depravity in us all, realizing that it's only by the grace of Jesus we set foot on the floor each morning.
During our time on the coast, we got a nice little surprise in the form of our twin girls, Sophie and Ella, and our little guy, Deacon, a few years later. After Deacons birth, we began to feel a tug and stir in our spirits. We weren't unhappy or unsettled, just recognized that we were on the verge of something. It came in the form of a phone call from a church in Knoxville. And after more divine appointments and events, we moved back home to Tennessee in two thousand eleven to join the work of White Stone Church, both in Knoxville and around the globe. In February of two thousand fourteen, we welcomed our last two little Tharpes, our twin sons, Langston and Riggs.
Yes, you are reading that correctly . . . we have five children . . . two sets of twins and a dude in between. And because its the question I get asked most, I'll go ahead and answer: all five are products of the old fashion way.
And yes, twins do run in my family.
Our life is busy, loud, hilarious and sometimes unbearable.
I've learned to roll with the punches, enjoy the mundane and leave the sweating of the small stuff to the people who have time for it.

I hope some of that comes through on these pages.
