Thought we could all use a little reminder now that it's getting warmer {even though we had a frost advisory here last night!}
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Modest is Hottest: This is what my real life friend, Maria had on her blog the other day and that got me thinking about how much my perception of the way I dress has changed over the years. See, I was . . . how is the best way to put this . . . 'blessed' at a young age. While the rest of my friends were still stuffing their bras, I was having trouble stay in one! I wore tight fit & low cut shirts all the time. I thought that would draw attention to myself and it did, but not in a good way. Sometimes I think it may have caused me to labeled as something I wasn't. After I started working in youth ministry, I started to really think about the way I dressed & how it really probably wasn't a good idea to be dressing like that around middle school boys!! Then I met & married Brock -I wanted my body to be for his eyes only. And then . . . then I had two beautiful baby girls who left marks, scars & extra skin all over my body.
But I didn't mind because I had {have} two beautiful, innocent baby girls who are looking to me to see what a woman should be like and a son who will learn what it means to respect & value women - this the reason for my modesty. It wasn't in the snide remarks from older women years ago. It wasn't in 'loving' words from a youth worker or Sunday school teacher. It was the moment I looked into baby blue eyes & realized my calling for the next years of my life.

So, I'm in full agreement with Maria . . . Modest is Hottest! Don't worry, I'm not saying we should go all Duggar style {that's not a bash . . . I love me some Duggars!} or even that we have to compromise being 'in style', it just means that this year, I'll be looking for a bathing suit with a skirt. I'll be making sure that when I bend over, you can't see straight down my shirt. And who knows, I may even start wearing t-shirts more {vintage fit please!}
For my daughters and my son . . . . I'll join in the
Modest is Hottest revolution.
Modest is Hottest revolution.
Will you?
. . . . . . . . . . . .
There will be others to lead & to guide you, girl
but only one you'll call Mother
the honor it's all mine
to show you what a woman's like
I'm so glad you're mine . . . . .
