A bunch of randomness and pictures . . .

We just got back from spending some time with our families in Tennessee {hence the blog break}. I would normally type 'home' instead of Tennessee, but I found that for the first time, our girls are confused by Brock & I referring to TN as 'home.' While it will always be home for us {and I hope for all of us one day} it has never been home to our kids. While packing, I would catch myself saying things like, "I have to do this before our trip home" or if I were to tell someone about us leaving, I'd say, "Yeah, we're going home" - the girls would look so confused. I finally had to stop myself from saying it because right now, in this season of our lives, North Carolina is home and Tennessee is place we love to visit.

Moving on . . . .
I said all of that because when I go to my Mom's house she always has lots of goodies for me. {goodies being home decor stuff she isn't using anymore!!}

I absolutely love these two new goodies for the girls 'in progress' room:

I've had my eye on that comforter since Mom bought it, so when she finally got a new one for the guest room, she of course offered it to me.

And the bonnet, well, it could be my favorite thing ever! This will fit perfect into S & E's new room decor. It was their great, great, great grandmother Louiza's bonnet. {Not sure if I spelled that right?} It is a family heirloom { c. 1800's} that we will treasure for years to come. If you know me than you know I can't pass up anything old. Ohh and don't worry, I'll definitely be framing it for safe keeping.

Their room's theme is {in my own words, of course} old farmhouse girls room with the primary colors being red, apple green, yellow, white & I can't believe I'm typing this Carolina blue. Accented in black. It's coming together quite nicely, but it's not done yet! Rest assured, I'll share pictures, details & how I decided on that theme just as soon as it's complete. I'm very excited about it!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I got to celebrate with my Mom, my sister and my two grandmothers. {Please excuse the picture as I was suffering from terrible allergies while we were there - I guess my body has adapted to coastal living!}

Oh, and here's what Deacon got me for Mother's day and yes, I know you're jealous.
