The kids & I went to our neighbor's parents pool for our usual Wednesday swimming. They have a mutt dog that is not known for her kind ways and apparently, Deacon got a little to close & she bit him.
Honestly, I really don't remember a lot after that until Brock, Deacon & I were sitting in the ER @ New Hanover RMC. Deacon was treated like a little prince - we were very impressed! He had to have a minor reconstructive surgery of his upper left lip by an incredible surgeon. (Really would couldn't have asked for a better team!) He came home last night, slept great & seems to be doing fine today. He is on a round of antibiotics & topical meds on the wound.
Brock & I kept reminding ourselves that as followers of Christ we should handle adversity differently, so we did our best to remain calm & prayed earnestly for our son. We are thankful that he is recovering nicely- it could have been a lot worse.
Now, he'll have a little scar, he'll look like a little tough man :)
Romans 8:28 says, that all things work together for the good of those who love God & are called by his name. So we'll hold to that truth & look for the good. Because how can you not see good when you see this face . . .
Last night (still in hospital gown- which he looked SO cute in!)
This morning after I cleaned it.
