sharing . . .

I'll admit I am a blog junkie. I love reading blogs about everything! I read several blogs by pastor's wives, many adoption blogs & photo blogs. One of my favorite things to find on blogs is recipes and/or ideas people have about making home stuff & food stuff healthier & convenient-- so I thought I'd share some of my own :)

There are three staples that you will always find in the Tharpe house: broccoli noodle (as we call it), Fruit dip & my famous spaghetti.

Broccoli Noodle
My kids would eat my "broccoli noodle" everyday if I'd let them! It's a great, filling lunch & is a good hearty snack for those times I know it maybe a longer time in between meals. It's so easy!!! Plus, its taught all my kids to like broccoli! (Soph & Els will straight up tell you that broccoli makes your body strong & helps fight cancer :)-- I use 1 box of whole grain penne noodles, 1 jar of classic alfredo sauce (organic if possible) & 1 bag of frozen, chopped broccoli. Make the noodles & broccoli as directed on package & mix all together w/ the alfredo sauce. That's IT! Make sure you use a large bowl b/c it makes a lot! It usually keeps well for a week. We also top ours with shredded cheese.

Fruit Dip
My kids get a fruit and/or veggie with EVERY meal they eat in our home, so this is great side to go along! I usually use it as an afternoon snack. I use about 2 "good size" tablespoons of peanut butter,( I use the all natural PB, where the oil separates, it easier to mix this kind), 1 8oz. vanilla yogurt & cinnamon (to taste)-- mix all & serve!! I told you these were easy!! My kids LOVE this with apples, grapes & bananas. Also good on plain rice cakes.

Tharpe House Famous Spaghetti :)
This one really isn't a recipe, its just a list of my sauce ingredients. I use an organic, veggie sauce (not chunky!!) & add oregano, onion powder, garlic salt, chop bay leaves, chili powder, salt & pepper. I also use ground turkey meat b/c it's much leaner, much better for you & cheaper!! All that over whole grain thin noodles & you've got a Thursday night at the Tharpe house. Throw a little cesar salad on the side & some WG garlic bread & you are good to go!

Hope you enjoy these! If anyones got any other good ones, email them to me :)
