Summer to Fall . . .

Okay, so it's been like 2 months since we've actually updated this thing! Sorry! Life is busy & the laptop was out of commission for like two weeks!
Now, we are up and running and ready to go!

Seeing how I am pregnant, I do not remember much from the month of August other than
the God awful heat! I mean seriously, we're talking already sweating just from walking to the car! No one should have to deal with this! They say the cooler weather is around the corner, but I have yet to feel the relief. So there was August in a nutshell . . .air conditioning, pools and a lot of complaining!

On to September--

The month started with Brock finishing up this seasons weddings (that's five since May) The following week we found out that Baby Johnny Cash is actually a Johnny Cash! That's right, we'll be welcoming our little man in February and couldn't be happier! We've got a few names floating around, but probably will not officially "announce" his name until he arrives . . . mainly because if you do it that way you don't feel the need to explain to everyone why you chose that name and no one has time to figure out whether they like it or not . . make sense???

The girls are doing great. They continuously keep us going and we wouldn't have it any other way. Ella is still very artistic and will sit for hours with her markers, paints, crayons or chalk. She has also perfected writing her name and has now moved on to learning how to write all the letters in the alphabet. Sophie on the other hand will only stick to the "Sop" and then she stops. Maybe she wants to be called this ?? :)-- She also loves drawing with the markers, preferable on herself!!! She has however began to read three letter words this month. (Especially rhyming words)
She will also talk your head off! We did have a small scare with Sophie this month. After falling about 5.5 feet from a slide ladder at the park, she was crying uncontrollably and complaining about arm pain. We rushed her to the Urgent Care where she was the star patient of the day. The doctors and nurses could not get over how calm & behaved she was. She would answer the doctors questions before I could even open my mouth. After examining her x-rays, the doctor happily reported that she just had a sprain and she would be fine. After he told Sophie this, she looked right at him and said, "It's okay now, it doesn't hurt that bad, it's a no can do, doctor."

They are hilarious & sweet and though they can be extremely trying at times, the love & wonder they have shown us is beyond words.

And just think, there's another little Tharpe on the way!

Well, we sign off of here anticipating Pop & YaYa's visit next week for Sophie & Ella's 3rd Birthday!!! October will bring birthdays, anniversaries, fall break, festivals and most importantly . . . cooler weather!

See you next month . . .
