Merry July

Wow! July went so fast its more like a blur than a memory. The month started with us heading to Ridgecrest for Centrifuge while Sophie & Ella headed to TN for a fun filled week at Pop & YaYa’s house. Centrifuge was different. While the staff & over all “feel” of the camp were a little lacking compared to the past, we really enjoyed the speaker, Gary Morgan ( Mosaic Nashville). After wrapping up camp & getting kids back safely to their parents it was back to TN for Kayla & Allen’s wedding weekend.

The wedding took place at the Lily Barn in Townsend and Allen’s parents treated everyone to a weekend stay at the Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend. (which was luxurious and extremely helpful in cutting off some travel time ) Sophie & Ella were pumped about being flower girls—they cared only that they got to wear flowers in their hair. The whole week was fun, exhausting & memorable. (Click here for pictures).
After sending the newlyweds off, it was time for us to head out as well, only with one minor detour . . . Dollywood’s Splash Country!
It was everything we had imagined! We have never seen so much excitement then on the faces of our girls that day! The best part was that there are tons of activities for kids to do (3 different areas, in fact) but Sophie & Ella found one slide and would have been perfectly content on it all day long! Of course, I (Bethany) was extremely let down, being that I’ve never been to Splash Country and the only thing that Johnny Cash & I could do was the wave pool. There’s always next year!!

Speaking of Johnny, he/she is doing well. We’ve had a recent ultrasound of the little one and were amazed at how fast he/she has changed. It seemed in the first picture to be just this little blob, than just two weeks later we were looking at a tiny baby! Also, after much sickness (much more than with the girls) we’re feeling much better. We should find out Johnny Cash’s gender mid-September.

Sophie & Ella are still attending Mother’s Day Out two days a week and it is a huge blessing for us. Their favorite activities at the moment are taking care of babies, singing, dancing, playing Hide and Go Seek, and learning to count in Spanish. They seem to grow up everyday and continue to keep us laughing. They are very excited about Baby Johnny Cash and already love to sing songs to my belly.

Well, that’s it for us from July. August is already upon us and we’re hoping that it will quickly be gone! With our heat indexes at 110° we’re finding fun activities to do inside and dreaming of October’s crisp air!

All for now . . .
