June Bug

June is always a crazy month around the Tharpe house, and this one was no different! The first night of June started with a visit from the “Passy Princess”, who came to collect all of Sophie & Ella’s passy’s for all the little babies who need them. After only a few nights of some uneasy sleeping, we don’t even think about those things anymore!!
Then we began our birthday celebration week! Since our birthdays are only 3 days apart, we get to celebrate all week! More information on that if you scroll down. Moving on …
Pop and YaYa came to visit, which means some fun at the beach and some fun with Presley! (the dog) --The girls really enjoyed building sand castles with Pop, who is an excellent castle builder!
June is also the annual NC Blueberry Festival, which has brought great fame to our little town! While the crowds are becoming a little much, it’s still worth it to see what all the venders are selling, dancing to the live bands and of course . . the food!!! But when it came to the kid’s corner, Sophie was the only one impressed! She loved the big slide and went fearlessly to the top then glided down. Ella was a different story. After the worker had to help her up, he also had to “push” her down, which made her even more upset and she was ready to leave.
June wraps up for us with VBS! A fun, but exhausting week! This year’s theme was “Take the Plunge”- so the entire church is covered in blue complete with blue balloons covering the floors, which has been a huge hit with the kids!! Splash!
And last but certainly not least, this month we found out that our little family will be expanding (not to mention Bethany’s belly!)—In early February we should be welcoming a new addition and we couldn’t be happier! Baby “Johnny Cash” has already brought so much to our family and we can’t wait to meet her/him (won’t know that for a few more weeks).
Well, we sign off here to head out for 2.5 weeks away at camps and in TN for Kayla & Allen’s Wedding! Be sure to check back next month for all that!
Until then . . . Happy Summer!
