The rest of April . . . .

Wow! What a whirlwind this month has been! It started with a visit from YaYa, Aunt KK and Baby Lola-- of course having them here is always wonderful! Easter Sunday was good expect for the fact that the camera batteries were dead, so no pictures! We treated ourselves to an Easter lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings- thought we'd start a different tradition! The weekend of the 15th, we packed up the van and headed toward Oak Island via a ferry boat, which Sophie & Ella thought was totally cool! We stayed the night at Fort Caswell, a 19th century fort that has been renovated and is now a camp for youth. The girls had a blast exploring through the forts & through the secret passage ways, but the highlight of the weekend was Brock running his first 5K since the year 2000. Not only did he run, he placed 2nd in his age division, coming in at 28 minutes!! Mommy, Sophie & Ella were proudly waiting at the finish line to cheer our guy on!
Brock also preformed his first wedding this month, and with little surprise to all, he did an exceptional job. Sophie & Ella are full steam ahead into the TERRIBLE TWO'S!! Which we assumed was just a cliche..... NOT! It is utterly and completely true! This age is very trying on all four of us-- It's hard on the girls because this age is very difficult for them all around- physically, mentally & emotionally. It is just as trying on Mommy & Daddy who are trying relentlessly to calmly cope, discipline correctly and still enjoy our children. Other than that, they are still doing incredibly well in school and trying new things everyday. (Including sushi!) The North Carolina coastal weather is upon us and that means we've been spending our days outside in the pool, on the slip-n-slide, in the sand box or swinging on our tire swing! All in all, April was good to us-- from what we can remember.

Until next month . . .
